Covid-19 Renamed into Infection, 0+0 with 48 PCR Test to China
Under the joint prevention and control mechanism of The State Council, “the general plan on implementing Class B and B management for the novel coronavirus infection” was released on the evening of December 26, 2022, proposing to optimize the management of personnel exchanges between China and foreign countries.
To summarize the notice issued by the National Health Commission:
- Covid-19 pneumonia was renamed the novel coronavirus infection.
- With the approval of The State Council, the prevention and control measures for Class A infectious diseases stipulated in the “Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Prevention and Treatment of Infectious Diseases” shall be lifted from January 8, 2023; The novel coronavirus infection is no longer included in the administration of quarantinable infectious diseases as stipulated in “the Frontier Health and Quarantine Law of the People’s Republic of China”.
People coming to China should take a nucleic acid test 48 hours before their departure. Those with negative test results may come to China. There is no need to apply for a health code from Chinese diplomatic and consular missions. If positive, relevant personnel should come to China after turning negative. Nucleic acid testing and centralized quarantine for all personnel upon entry will be canceled. If the health declaration is normal and the customs port routine quarantine is not abnormal, people can be released into the community.
Measures to control the number of international passenger flights, including the “five-one” policy and the passenger load factor limit, will be lifted. Airlines continue to prevent disease on board, and passengers are required to wear masks when flying.
The released measures are aimed at further optimizing arrangements for foreigners returning to China for work resumption, business, study, family visits, and reunions, and providing visa facilities accordingly. The entry and exit of passenger transport by water and land ports will be gradually resumed. China will resume outbound tourism in an orderly manner in light of the international epidemic situation and the service support capacity of all sectors.
