Business license new version is here!

July 25^th, 2022, the General Office of the State Administration for Market Regulation issued a «Notice on the Adjustment of the Business License Contents», adjusting the content of the business license.

 

«Regulation of the People’s Republic of China on the Administration of the Registration of Market Entities» (hereinafter referred to as the “Regulation”) and its «Detailed Rules for the Implementation», which came into force at the same time on March 1^st, 2022, is the first administrative regulation to unify the registration and management of various market entities in China.

 

For the registration and management of market entities engaged in business activities for profit in China, this Regulation provides uniform provisions to protect the legitimate rights and interests of market entities, promote entrepreneurship and innovation, and maintain market order to provide a solid guarantee of the rule of law.

 

The adjustment of the content of the business license is in accordance with the Regulation and its Detailed Rules for the implementation, to further unify and optimize the registration of market entities, thus making the corresponding adjustments.

 

What are the specific changes? Highlights are as follows:

 

1. The business licenses of companies, non-corporate legal persons, partnerships, branches and other types of market entities no longer show the information item of “business term” and “partnership term”.
2. Add “Capital Amount” information item to the business license of partnership and sole proprietorship enterprise.
3. The names and positions of the business licenses of some types of market entities shall be adjusted accordingly.
4. The format classification and printing standards of the business license shall continue to be implemented in accordance with the «General Administration of Market Regulation on the launch of the new version of the business license notice » (National City Supervision Note [2018] No. 253) in the “business license printing standards (2019 version)” and other relevant requirements.
5. Starting from September 1^st, 2022, all types of market entities approved by the registration authority to establish, do modification and re-issue business licenses will be issued business licenses with the adjusted format.
6. All types of existing market entities can continue to use the original business license or directly apply for a new version of the business license.
