Since China implemented the 72/144-hour visa-free transit policy in January 2013, the visa-free transit policy has played an important role in serving the country’s high-level opening up to the outside world, facilitating the movement of Chinese and foreigners, and promoting foreign exchanges and cooperation. The further expansion of the 144-hour visa-free transit policy provides more options for foreigners to come to China for tourism, business, and trade.
In the next step, the National Immigration Administration will continue to improve and optimize the policy of visa-free transit, continue to promote the opening up of the immigration management system, welcome expatriates to China with a more open attitude, and make every effort to serve and promote the opening up of a high level of high-quality development.
